Egyptian Dance Academy
E.A.S.T (the Egyptian Academy Student Troupe) performs Egyptian-style belly dances and Folklore dances throughtout the Greater Toronto Aarea. The dancers of E.A.S.T. are emerging artists who develop thier skills under the direction of Nada El Masriya, who received expert level training with the Reda Troupe. Having performed at premier festivals, such as Luminato, Taste of the Danforth, as well as on television with appearances on Much Music and Global, E.A.S.T dancers are sure to captivate glo¦cal FOOD guests!
Korean Dance Studies Society of Canada
The Korean Dance Studies Society of Canada is a creative dance organization that collaborates across cultures and generations while honouring Korean tradition. There are 3 parts to the KDSSC: the Soo Ryu School of Dance & Drum, the Mi Young Kim Dance Company and the Soo Ryu Dance Festival. Working as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher, Artistic Director Mi Young Kim has established herself as one of the leading figures in the Korean-Canadian cultural scene. While Mi Young Kim has won numerous top awards in Korea for her dancing, her dancers have also won prizes in Canada with her choreographies, including gold awards at the Kiwanis Dance Festival of Toronto.
Toronto Northern Legs Southern Fists Kung Fu, Dragon and Lion Dance
The NLSF is a Toronto based team specializing in Kung Fu and Dragon & Lion dance instruction. They are a group of multicultural people committed to preserving and promoting the Chinese arts. Some events they have performed at in the past include: Toronto Raptors halftime show, Toronto International Dragon Boat Races, CNY Celebrations, and much more.
Shannon ten Brink
Shannon ten Brink (Liko) has danced with the Kauhane school of Polynesian dance (Halau Hula Ka’Uhane O Ka Pakiipika) in British Columbia for 12 years. During her time dancing she learned and taught Polynesian, Tahitian and Maori. Shannon has participated in many workshops and competitions in Canada and the USA, including the World Invitational Hula Festival in Hawaii.
